Hours of operation

The Moweaqua Public Library District (MPLD) maintains consistent, posted hours of service during which all services are available to patrons.

​

Those hours are:

Monday: 9am–7pm

Tuesday: 9am–5pm

Wednesday: 9am–5pm

Thursday: closed

Friday: 9am–5pm

Saturday: 9am–2pm

Sunday: closed

The book drop is available for the return of all material during the hours the library is closed.

2024 holidays

Approved January 2024

In 2024, the Library will close for the following holidays as observed on the federal calendar; otherwise, the Library will remain open during all regularly scheduled hours, except by action of the MPLD Board of Trustees. The following dates also reflect paid holidays for salaried full-time staff.

 

Memorial Day: Monday, May 27

Independence Day: Thursday, July 4

Labor Day: Monday September 2

Veterans Day: Saturday November 11

Thanksgiving: Thursday and Friday,  November 28–29 (open Saturday)

Christmas Eve:  (early closure, 9–2) Tuesday, December 24

Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25

New Year's Eve:  (early closure, 9–2) Tuesday, December 31

New Year's Day: Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

 

On days when schools are closed or dismissed early due to inclement weather, the Library will also be closed.
