Book Talk: October 3 @ 4pm, Author Johnny Boggs will discuss his book on pioneer cattle man Tom Candy Ponting, who was the first to deliver cattle from Texas to New York. Join in a discussion of fascinating history and local legend.
VACCINATION CLINIC & CCSI
CCSI: Kara Brown of CCSI will be available for consultation from 9-noon on October 17. She can provide access to in-home care services, home-delivered meals, financial aid programs, home modification and weatherization programs, assistive technology, respite, emergency home response, medication management, Medicare Part D applications, and other resources available to assist adults over 60 or disabled people of any age. (Free)
Vaccination Clinic: October 17 @1pm. Shelby County Health Department will provide Flu and Pneumonia vaccinations. Medicare and all Health Insurance accepted.

Halloween Costumes on loan: Adult and kids costumes for loan. Starting Monday
October 2-31 costumes will be available for loan.

Creepy Doll Contest: Calling all lovers of the macabre! Create your masterpiece of creepiness and display at the library. Patrons through out October will cast votes to decide who will hold the title of Most Horrifying Spooky Frightening doll.

Autumn book and bake sale: The library will hold its traditional book and bake sale in conjunction with the fall rummage sale September 28–30. (If you would like to donate baked goods for the sale, please stop by the library for details.)

Haunted House: The library will be transformed into a chamber of terror for one night only—don't miss it! Might not be suitable for small children—those under 10 should be accompanied by an adult. Admission $5, 7:30–10:30 October 28.

Sensory Friendly, Low Key, Not Creepy Halloween Experience: The library will host a free afternoon event from 3–6 p.m. on Halloween that is neurodivergent-friendly and welcoming of smaller children—pumpkins and witches, but no loud noises or flashing lights.
Halloween Dinner on the Go: From 3–6 p.m. on Halloween, the Friends of the Library will be selling hot dog dinners for any and all trick-or-treaters and their families who can't wait to get on the road. For $5, you will get a hot dog, bag of chips, and bottle of water.

Santa Suit Rental: $50 charge. Suit will be dry cleaned after each use.
