Meeting Room Policy

Meeting Room Policy:

The use of the Library for meetings is granted to community groups and organizations whose aims are educational, cultural, intellectual, charitable, or social.

 

The use of the Library shall be limited to members and or organizations in the Library service area. The Library Board may grant exceptions if the Board deems extenuating circumstances are involved. The Library Board shall reserve the right to refuse scheduled meetings at the option of the Library Board with 48 hours notice, if possible.

 

Library Endorsement:

The fact that a group is permitted to meet at the Library does not in any way constitute an endorsement of the group’s policies or beliefs by the Library Staff or Board.

 

Decorations, food, drink & smoking:

Decorations will be allowed on tables only. The use of candles, tape or thumbtacks is not permitted.

 

Light refreshments may be served in connection with a meeting, but in no event shall alcoholic beverages of any nature be served or permitted in the room. The user shall provide all equipment and utensils needed and shall remove - on the same day- any equipment or supplies brought in.

 

The user is responsible for all table and chair arrangements.

 

The user shall leave the room in a neat, clean and orderly condition. Non-compliance will result in denied access to Meeting Room.

 

The Library is a “Smoke-Free” facility. Smoking is not permitted within the premises.

 

Responsibility:

The Library is not responsible for any equipment, supplies, materials, clothing, or other items brought to the library or transported to library property by any group or individual attending the meeting.

Liability:

The Library board and staff do not assume any liability on groups or individuals attending a meeting in the Library.

The person signing the application for permission to hold a meeting in the Library will be billed for any necessary repairs in the event of damage to Library property.

 

Scheduling:

Preference will be given to meetings open to the general public. Reservations may be made in person or by telephone. Use of the room is permitted after the Library is closed. Arrangements for access and locking up of the building will be made with the librarians.

 

Fees:

A fee of $25.00 shall be charged to cover extra expense in maintenance.
